Chris Teclado

Who is Chris Teclado?

Hypnotist, audiovisual technical manager

French-speaking

They also call me Chris the Enchanter

I am Chris Teclado, but known in the artistic world as Chris the Enchanter.

The Enchanter because I take pleasure in delighting people.

For many years, I have been developing an artistic path that blends hypnosis, hosting, music, audiovisual work, technical skills, and entertainment.

But behind all these disciplines, there is one same desire:
"To give the audience an experience."
"An emotion, a surprise, a laugh, a discovery, or simply a moment different from everyday life."

It is this desire that now guides my artistic work and naturally led me to participate in the creation and development of "Oneiropolis.".

Hypnosis as a gateway to the imagination

Chris Teclado 04

I've always been fascinated by hypnosis.

I'm interested in it as much for its aspects related to well-being and understanding human nature as for its artistic and entertaining potential.

After discovering various books on hypnosis and attending a show, I wanted to understand this amazing practice for myself.

I then trained, met other practitioners, and gradually developed my own approach.

Over time, I’ve had the chance to practice hypnosis in very different settings:

"Cafés ; restaurants ; festivals ; cabarets ; shows ; public events ; private parties and street performances. Today"

I offer hypnosis that is above all fun, engaging, and kind, where the audience truly becomes an active part of what’s happening.

This approach is also publicly showcased in my Chris the Enchanter performances, where participants are invited to experience different things related to suggestion, the senses, memory, perceptions, and well-being.

The audience becomes the hero

For me, a show doesn't necessarily have to be something you just watch from your seat.

I like it when the audience can participate. When someone goes up on stage. When a spectator becomes, for a few moments, the main character of an experience. When an entire group wonders what just happened.

This is the philosophy behind Chris the Enchanter:
"The audience isn't just a spectator of the experience, they become the hero of it".

This approach can be adapted to different settings and different audiences, both on stage and directly among the people present.

An artist with many facets

Hypnosis is just one part of my artistic world.

Since my youth, I have also worked in various fields related to entertainment and events:
"DJ, radio host, musician, stage manager, and audiovisual technician, I gradually developed both an artistic and technical understanding of events."

These experiences taught me to look at a show as a whole:
"The stage ; The sound ; The lighting ; The music ; The visuals ; The rhythm ; The presentation."

But most of all... the audience.

Because a successful experience doesn’t only depend on what happens on stage.

It also depends on everything that allows the audience to feel immersed in what’s being offered to them.

From the artist to creating experiences

I don't just want to put on a performance.
I want to think about the experience the audience will have.
An animation can start even before a show begins.
Music can change the vibe of a place.
An interaction with the audience can create an unexpected surprise.
A hypnosis demonstration can turn a regular spectator into a participant.
A light, a sound, or an image can extend an emotion.

It's this overall vision that led me to develop an approach blending artistic and technical aspects.

Experience in very different environments

During my journey, I've had the chance to take part in events and gatherings of many different kinds:
"Festivals ; conventions ; cultural events ; trade shows ; shows ; street performances ; cafés and restaurants ; private events ; charity events ; video shoots ; galleries ; theaters and performance hall, ..."

This variety has helped me develop a strong ability to adapt.
Because every audience is different.
Every place has its own vibe.
And every event has its own story.

Some events and places

Among the events and places I’ve had the chance to take part in are :

Théâtre Nomades — Brussels
Grande Braderie d'Ixelles — Brussels
Cherry Festival — Brussels
Made in Asia — Brussels

Brussels Tattoo Convention — Brussels
International Tattoo Show — Tournai

A presence in contact with the public

I also had the opportunity to perform or take part in events in various cities in Belgium and France.

Brussels ; Schaerbeek ; Ixelles ; Etterbeek ; Anderlecht ; Berchem-Sainte-Agathe ; Koekelberg ; Watermael-Boitsfort ; Woluwe-Saint-Lambert ; Uccle ; Forest ; Wavre ; Limal ; Louvain-la-Neuve ; Braine-l'Alleud ; Namur ; Eghezée ; Charleroi ; Mons ; Tournai ; Nivelles ; La Louvière ; Liège ; Erquelinnes ; Velaine-sur-Sambre ; Marchienne-au-Pont ; Bioul ; Yvoir ; Courcelles ; Colfontaine ; Trazegnies ; Lille; ...

This hands-on experience taught me to connect with the audience, especially in situations where the artist needs to quickly adapt to their surroundings.

I've also often been introduced as an artist performing both on stage, on the street, or at private events.

Recognition from the public

My artistic journey has also been shaped by several experiences that have been important in my development.

In 1998, I won the audience award at the Avonden Artistic Competition in Brussels.

I was also a co-trainer at Street Hypnose Belgium from 1999 to 2002, an experience that allowed me to pass on some of my knowledge and continue growing through interaction with other practitioners.

For me, these experiences are much more than just awards.

They reflect a path built gradually, through practice, encounters, sharing knowledge, and above all, through connection with the audience.

Chris the Enchanter today

Today, I continue to develop my world around entertainment hypnosis, hosting, and creating experiences.

My approach remains intentionally accessible: "Make people laugh, surprise, intrigue, involve, and amaze."

Hypnosis then becomes an artistic tool to create situations that participants and spectators won't soon forget.

Chris the Enchanter's shows are now presented as interactive experiences where participants take center stage.

Chris Teclado and "Oneiropolis"

My personal journey today finds a natural continuation in "Oneiropolis"

"Oneiropolis" brings together several artists, each with their own universe, skills, and way of engaging with the audience.

My role is especially to make use of my experience in animation, audiovisual technology, music, stage performance, and organization to help create a cohesive experience among the different artists.

So I don't see "Oneiropolis" as just a series of shows.

I see it as a universe where different disciplines can meet.

Magic ; Hypnosis ; Music ; Imagery ; Performance ; Animation ; Imagination.

And when all these artistic forms come together...

the audience can truly step into the story.

My philosophy

I believe that an artist shouldn't just try to show what they can do.

They should try to make people feel something.

A show can be forgotten.

But an emotion experienced at the right moment can stay in memory for a long time.

That's why, when I go on stage, when I meet the audience, or when I take part in creating an event, I always keep the same idea in mind:

Create a moment that people will want to talk about.

That's what being Chris the Enchanter means to me.

And it's this philosophy that I want to share today through "Oneiropolis".
